Welcome to St. Michael’s Hospital, Dun Laoghaire

St. Michael's Hospital is an acute general hospital providing a range of acute and specialised hospital services to the people of South Dublin and Wicklow.  St. Michael's first opened its doors to patients on the 12th of June 1876 and is now under the care of the Sisters of Charity.  St. Michael's is part of the St. Vincent's Healthcare Group and has strong clinical links with St. Vincent's University Hospital and is a medical and nursing teaching hospital affiliated to U.C.D.

St. Michael’s has nearly 500 staff and 134 inpatient beds incorporating 7-day, 5-day and day care options.  The hospital provides facilities for acute medical and surgical patients, outpatient clinics and an enhanced 8am – 8pm daily accident and emergency service.  The hospital also provides a varied range of general and specialist services that include a Cardiac Rehabilitation programme.  St. Michael’s is the National Training Centre for Pulmonary Re-habilitation Care.

With our front entrance located on the main street, St. Michael’s is close to all the shops and amenities of the historic town of Dun Laoghaire.
