The South Infirmary-Victoria University Hospital is a voluntary general acute hospital and caters for both public and private patients. The hospital has a total bed capacity of 274 beds and employs approx. 900 employees.
It is the third largest acute service provider in the Cork area and operates the second largest Emergency Department in Cork, dealing with approximately 30,000 patients per annum.
The hospital is the regional centre for ENT and Dermatology services and is a major centre for the treatment of gynaecological oncology.
There are seven operating theatres in the complex and a modern day care facility with its own operating theatre.
